The Terraform Labs liquidation plan is effective, Crypto Loss Claim determinations are being issued on a rolling basis. The official sources reviewed do not state a final creditor recovery percentage or a fixed distribution date.
This page distinguishes case facts from estimates, market commentary, and token news. A bankruptcy claim is not the same asset as LUNA, LUNC, UST, or USTC, and price movements in those tokens do not determine the value or timing of an allowed Crypto Loss Claim.
The confirmed case timeline
| Date | Confirmed event | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| January 21, 2024 | Terraform Labs entered Chapter 11 in Delaware. | The bankruptcy case is 24-10070 (BLS). |
| September 20, 2024 | The Bankruptcy Court confirmed the liquidation plan. | The plan established the route for the wind-down and claims. |
| October 1, 2024 | The confirmed plan became effective. | Plan administration moved to the post-effective-date structure and Wind Down Trust. |
| March 31, 2025 | The online Crypto Loss Claim portal opened. | Claimants could submit evidence under the CLC procedures. |
| May 16, 2025 | The extended general CLC bar date passed. | A late-claim issue is fact-specific; do not assume a new claim can still be filed. |
Crypto Loss Claim determinations
The Plan Administrator states that approximately 16,640 Crypto Loss Claims were submitted and that initial determinations began issuing on a rolling basis. A determination can affect whether a claim is allowed and the amount recognized for the claims process.
Claimholders should rely on the official portal and their own notices for individual status. A marketplace, third-party site, social post, or community moderator cannot determine whether a particular claim is allowed.
Security reminder: a legitimate verification process should not require your wallet seed phrase or the password to your official claims portal account.
Is there a Terra bankruptcy payout date?
We did not find an official source reviewed on July 19, 2026 that announced a fixed distribution date or final percentage recovery for Crypto Loss Claim holders. That absence matters: “claim amount” and “expected cash distribution” are not interchangeable.
Creditors generally face two different routes:
- Keep the claim: retain exposure to future estate distributions, while accepting the case timeline and recovery risk.
- Transfer the claim: accept a negotiated amount now, while transferring future rights defined by the written agreement. Some deals may retain limited contingent participation in specified future recoveries.
Neither route is inherently correct. The decision depends on the offer, the rights transferred, personal liquidity needs, tax consequences, and tolerance for uncertainty.
How to track the latest Terraform filings
Epiq maintains the public case docket for Terraform. Docket entries are the best place to check exact filing dates, motion titles, notices, orders, hearing agendas, and transfers of claim. The docket is a live record, so it can be newer than any static news article.
- Open the official Terraform docket on Epiq.
- Sort or scan by filed date, newest first.
- Read the docket text before opening a document; distinguish a request or objection from an order that grants or denies relief.
- Confirm whether an item concerns the main bankruptcy case, a specific claimant, an administrative matter, or a claim transfer.
A filing is not automatically a case-wide event. For example, an individual late-claim request or notice of claim transfer may have no direct effect on every allowed CLC holder.
